The final trailer for "The Divergent Series: Allegiant" has been officially released by Lionsgate and Summit Entertainment on Monday. The trailer shows action-packed scenes and a sense of mystery.
Cinema Blend describes the trailer as mysterious and action-packed. When things seem to be finally getting better as seen in the first part of the trailer, things get complicated when Tris (Shailene Woodley) realizes that she is the only person who is pure from genetic defects.
Jeff Daniels joins the cast as the mysterious leader of a large organization which aims to destroy everyone, reports Collider. Venturing outside the walls of Chicago led them to the truth and much bigger threat than anyone of them had ever imagined, the Collider added.
The third of four films based on Veronica Roth's trilogy of "Divergent" novels, the Insurgent will still be directed by Robert Schwentke as reported by Collider. Following the events of the last film, Tris and Four (Theo James) moved outside the wall of Chicago to know the truth why their city was isolated. It was then that they discovered she was the only one among her friends who is pure. The fight for their lives begins as the organization moves to eliminate imperfect individuals.
Cinema Blend reports that Allegiant is just the first part of the third novel in the trilogy series. Though watching "Allegiant" may mean that the end is near, it may take some time before it actually reaches its finale. In fact, this may hold true since Robert Schwentke who was supposed to direct the final instalment just left the franchise to take a break. This leaves the film finale subtitled as "Ascendent", without a director.
"The Divergent Series: Allegiant" opens March 18. The film also includes Ansel Elgort, Octavia Spencer, Miles Teller, Ray Stevenson, Zoe Kravitz, Maggie Q, Mekhi Phifer, Daniel Dae Kim and Naomi Watts according to Collider. Take a look at the final trailer for "Allegiant" below:
