"Steven Universe" Season 2 is currently on a hiatus but several hints and spoilers have been thrown here and there. With the CN series teasing on the return of Lapis Lazuli and her mysterious un-fusion from Jasper, will her return ultimately convince her to join the Crystal Gems?

"Steven Universe" Season 2 spoilers from Movie Pilot note on the possibility that Lapis Lazuli may join the Crystal Gems when the CN series returns on TV. A recently released short promo showed Peridot offering Lapis a present.
This confirmed "Steven Universe" theories and speculations among fans and viewers that Lapis will indeed return in Season 2. However, her return only fueled more questions and speculations from fans.
One of the questions that fans had after watching the short promo of "Steven Universe" Season 2 was Lapis' un-fusion from Jasper. Lapis last made an appearance in the show as the hate-fusion Malachite with Jasper at the bottom of the ocean.
Her return in the upcoming episodes of the show may ultimately provide answers as to how the said un-fusion took place between Lapis and Jasper. Aside from this mystery, the publication noted on the possibility that Steven may convince Lapis into joining the Crystal Gems.
According to the publication, Steven has successfully convinced Peridot into joining the Crystal Gems because of his sincerity towards Peridot. Lapis has also done extreme things to protect Steven, so she may grant the latter's request in order to help him once again.
Meanwhile, fans are growing impatient about the "Steven Universe" hiatus. The CN animated series return from its three-month hiatus after September 2015 with a weeklong "Steven Bomb" in January, Paste Magazine reported.
The "Steven Bomb" was a delight among fans and viewers but they were disappointed when the show went on another hiatus. While the network has yet to announce an official return date for "Steven Universe" Season 2, fans are speculating that the show will return in March or April, if CN will follow its previous three-month break.
