The bond of twins are inexplicable, but the latest photo of a sonogram of the womb of Brittani McIntire could break anyone's heart. It showed one of the twins holding the hand of the dying twin.
The couple from Hutchinson, Kansas could have been very lucky at having fraternal twins. However, their doctors told them that only one of the twins will survive, considering that one of them has a hole in the heart and that his brain was abnormal.
According to a report by Yahoo News, Brittani told CBS that, "His only chance of survival would be heart surgery but they wouldn't do heart surgery on him because of his brain." The boy twin, whom they named Mason, is dying right inside the womb.
To their surprise, when the doctors took a sonogram, they found that the healthy twin, the girl, holding the Mason's hand, a touching depiction that could tug even the hardest of hearts. After seeing the image, the whole family was somewhat comforted at the thought that in the event that Mason will not make it through, his sister will be there for him.
Mason was only nine ounces, while his sister, whom they named Madilyn, was strong and healthy at two pounds. If Mason would survive, the doctors would be delivering the twins via a C-section.
Fox News mentioned the statement of the father, Ian McIntire, saying, "We know that we have a piece of them together that will last forever and is special to have." As for the mother, Brittani, how she wished that she could be more closer to her son during such time of need.
The family is comforted at the thought that his sister is there for her dying twin brother inside the womb. Brittani said, "She's the only one who can actually be there and holding onto him through it, so it's comforting to know that if he does pass, he won't be alone."
