'Into the Badlands' Spoilers, News & Updates: Season Two Renewal

According to new reports, a second season of "Into the Badlands" is looking more likely. The Hollywood Reporter's Lesley Goldberg declared at the TCA winter press tour that the martial arts drama will be renewed for a second season.

The first season of the TV series had its premiere on November 15th, 2015. "Into the Badlands" was created by Miles Millar and Al Gough. The drama is set into a futuristic feudal society and follows a seasoned killer and martial arts expert, Sunny (Daniel Wu).

With an average of 3.86 million viewers per episode and an 18-49 demo average of 1.79, the first season did well in the ratings. Thanks in part to being scheduled on Sunday nights, right after "The Walking Dead", the show was a hit for AMC, according to Variety.

The post-apocalyptic martial arts drama features many supernatural elements and showcases the martial arts talents of Hong Kong action star Daniel Wu. The action drama series also features very elaborate stunt work executed by a talented supporting cast.

According to TV Series Finale, Goldberg posted on Twitter the news about the season two of the martial arts drama "Into the Badlands". Co-creator Gough also commented the news on Twitter.

A report on Indiewire explains what Gough and Millar have learned after the first season of "Into the Badlands." The creators consider that the show was pretty much on track and introduced the audience to the futuristic word settings. After getting familiar with the characters through the first six episodes, the audience is now ready to understand them better explore more of the Badlands.

The two creators of the TV series also declared that they try to avoid making killing people a cliché. They consider that it is always hard to invest in people and it really needs to mean something when you are going to kill a main character in a TV series. In the first season, they managed to balance this aspect and the next season will continue on the same path.
