Several fans have already been anticipating the sequel of the "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" movie even if it is still showing in theaters. Now, new reports claimed that "Star Wars 8" has officially started filming last week.
Screen Rant shared that several "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" cast have been very busy this past few weeks in preparation for the kickoff of the upcoming "Star Wars: Epsiode 8." It was Disney CEO Bob Iger, himself, who confirmed that the filming has already began last week.
Earlier this week, Lucasfilm has released a teaser video to officially announce that "Star Wars: Epsiode 8" is now in the works. Also, this is the film production's way of getting their fans hyped and even more amped for the upcoming chapter of the "Star Wars" series.
"The clip primarily consists of footage at Skellig Michael in Ireland, where Johnson was reportedly doing some filming last fall, before Force Awakens even came out. It depicts the fateful meeting between grizzled Jedi Master Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and his would-be apprentice Rey (Daisy Ridley) at the end of Episode VII," Screen Rant reported. "Rey holds out Luke's old lightsaber, and then Johnson announces cut. He welcomes the crew to Episode VIII as the iconic Star Wars main theme plays."
Meanwhile, the official Star Wars website has released the names of the cast who will be joining "Star Wars: Episode 8," which include Daisy Ridley, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong'o, Anthony Daniels, Andy Serkis, Gwedoline Christie, John Boyega and Domhnall Gleeson. The people who will be working behind the camera. on the other hand, include Ram Bergman and Kathleen Kennedy as producers and J.J. Abrams, Tom Karnowski and Jason McGatlin.
Joining Rian Johnson, who is taking the director's seat, to making the film the best episode ever are Director of Photography Steve Yedlin, Editor Bob Ducsay, Production Designer Rick Heinrichs, U.S. Casting Director Mary Vernieu and Hair and Make-up Designer Peter Swords King. "Star Wars: Epside 8" is slated for release on Dec. 15, 2017.
