Jack Nicholson Retiring from Show Business Due to Memory Loss: Report

Jack Nicholson has had a long and successful career in Hollywood and if rumors are to be believed, the Oscar winning actor is throwing in the towel and retiring due to recent memory loss, according to reports.

The gossip site RadarOnline report that memory issues have driven the 76-year-old "Batman" star into retirement from acting - a scoop that was later disputed by several other outlets.

"Jack has - without fanfare - retired," an unnamed insider told Radar.

According to reports, Jack Nicholson has retired because he can no longer remember his lines. Nicholson has been nominated for an Oscar 12 times, more than any other male actor. Nicholson has been Oscar-nominated for films made in five different decades, starting with the 1960s all the way up to the 2000s.

"There is a simple reason behind his decision - it's memory loss. Quite frankly, at 76, Jack has memory issues and can no longer remember the lines being asked of him. His memory isn't what it used to be," the source told Radar Online.

However, conflicting reports were later released. A separate source told NBC News that reports of Nicholson's demise were greatly exaggerated.

Even if the three-time Academy Award winner hasn't officially retired, however, it certainly has been a while since fans have seen him on the big screen.

His last film two films were 2007's "The Bucket List" and 2010's "How Do You Know."
