A new study care of the researchers from Karolinska Institute in Stockholm revealed that moderate alcohol consumption is good for a person's health, specifically the heart. This research was reported on February 18.
The Daily Mail published a report on this news regarding the link between alcohol and cardiovascular health. Apparently, it would be a great thing to do if you have at least three to five drinks in a week because it decreases the chance of you getting a heart attack.
Thanks to the study lead by Professor Imre Janszky of The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), we all now have a good excuse to drink alcohol every day, as long as we keep it in moderate amount. In a report delivered by Bustle, Janszky wrote, "People who drink wine, liquor or beer regularly are less prone to heart failure and heart attacks than those who rarely or never drink. Three to five drinks a week can be good for your heart."
Moderately drinking alcohol on a weekly basis can lower the risk of heart disease by 33 percent, while another 28 percent is reduced if you drink it every day. It doesn't matter what kind of drink it is as long as there is alcohol content, then your heart is actually safer than not having any alcohol at all.
There's a rational explanation why it doesn't matter whether you are drinking white wine, red wine or beer and it is for the reason that alcohol is a gateway to producing more good cholesterol. Professor Janszky also noted that alcohol, on the other hand, could also result in giving you a higher blood pressure, which is why it is still suggested to drink moderately.
Too much of something is always bad anyway, so just remember that saying whenever you think of binge drinking with alcohol.
