The man behind the hit TV series "Dawson's Creek" has welcomed a son to his family through a surrogate. Aside from being a television writer, director and producer, Greg Berlanti can confidently say that he is already a father.
People said he and boyfriend soccer player Robbie Rogers welcomed a healthy baby boy named Caleb Gene Berlanti on Thursday. Berlanti immediately posted a photo of his family on social media.
In an Instagram post, the director shared how happy he was with a new family member. "It is with much pride and love that I introduce to the world my son, Caleb Gene Berlanti. Born on February 18, 2016," he said in the caption of the photo. He added that he has always wanted and waited to finally become a father.
"Achieving this dream would not have been possible without the love and support of my wonderful family and surrogate, incredible boyfriend, amazing friends and co-workers that encouraged me and helped me on this remarkable journey," Berlanti noted. He also extended his gratitude to Rogers for his support prior to the coming of Caleb.
Daily Mail said Berlanti has earlier hinted on the coming of the baby when he a photo of a crib and some stuffed animals. Meanwhile, ET Online claimed that the newborn son was born with the help of a surrogate mother. He is also the first child of Berlanti, who has been in a relationship with the LA Galaxy player for three years now.
Rogers is said to be the first openly gay player in the United States sports league. The soccer player also shared a photo of Caleb on Instagram. He described the little blessing as "the most handsome pure little guy I've set my eyes on." Rogers said they are happy to welcome him into the family with peace and love.
