Tyler Perry has joined the cast of "Gone Girl" and will start alongside stars like Ben Affleck, Neil Patrick Harris and Rosumund Pike, according to EW news.
Deadline, which first reported the news, also says Kim Dickens and Patrick Fugit are nearing deals to star as the detectives investigating Amy's (Rosamund Pike) case. Neil Patrick Harris is currently in talks to play Amy's old boyfriend, Desi Collings.
Tyler Perry will play Tanner Bolt, a defense attorney who represents Affleck's character after he's implicated in the disappearance of his wife (Pike). Coon will play Affleck's twin sister, while Dickens ("Treme) and Fugit ("Thanks For Sharing") will play detectives who investigate the cast.
"Gone Girl" is based upon Gillian Flynn's popular novel of the same name and centers around the disappearance of Amy and the case against her prime-suspect husband, Nick. Reese Witherspoon and Bruna Papandrea are producing "Gone Girl" through their Pacific Standard banner along with Leslie Dixon.
Tyler Perry has been a busy guy lately, but he still is making time for good works. HuffPo reports that the movie star recently donated a cool million dollars to Bishop T.D. Jakes' ministry, saying to megachurch attendees: "I love to give. I've been a giver all my life. And when people have given to you, and sewn into you. And God has touched them and given you favor... See, they don't understand it where I come from. They don't understand it in Hollywood, but I'm going to tell you something about the blood of Jesus."
