Victoria Beckham Is New York Fashion Week’s Big Winner

According to a data and analytics company, Victoria Beckham is the big winner of the recently concluded New York Fashion Week. The former Spice Girl is the top designer who has the greatest "engagement" on social media on the day of her show.

New York Post reported that data collected by ListenFirst Media shows that Beckham earned a digital engagement rating of 1,337,169 for her Valentine's Day show. She was able to beat out fashion and consumer mainstays like Michael Kors (No. 2), Calvin Klein (No. 4) and Tommy Hilfiger (No. 7). She also outpaced Kanye West and his much-hyped Yeezy line that settled on the third spot of the list.

A report of Business Insider said that ListenFirst attributed Beckham's success at New York Fashion Week to several factors including celebrity star power and massive fan base on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. The company also pointed out that the success was fuelled by Beckham's initiatives to add more engaging social media posts during the fashion week.

Moreover, Beckham's social media explosion was also boosted by her husband, David Beckham. Her kids Harper, Brooklyn, Cruz and Romeo were also present during the show, adding extra interest.

ListenFirst Co-CEO and Co-Founder Jason Klein said in a statement that the results from digital engagement surrounding New York Fashion Week are fascinating. "It shows yet again how social media in particular can bring something so exclusive to the masses. You no longer have to be front row to be engaged with these top designers," he added.

In an article of The Independent, fashion editor Alexander Fury salutes Beckham for her transformation from a Spice Girl to a respected fashion designer. He said that the former popstar has successfully evolved from a fashion victim to a style victor.

"The fashion industry seems to have taken Victoria Beckham to its heart... Victoria Beckham is taken seriously because she takes fashion seriously," Fury wrote.
