Demi Lovato is not only known as one of the best singers, but the "Confident" singer is also known for her stand on gender equality. With her outspoken attitude, Lovato dished out her thoughts on Kesha's ongoing battle against Sony, but this time, it is directed towards Taylor Swift.
Taylor Swift gave out her fair share in supporting Kesha with her courtroom battle. The "Bad Blood" singer showed her support by donating $250,000 to help the "Tic Tok" singer with her financial needs. During an interview with E! Swift's spoke person told the reporters that, "In a show of support, Taylor Swift has donated $250,000 to Kesha to help with any of her financial needs during this trying time."
Swift's donation was then confirmed by Kesha's mom on Twitter. Though Swift's gesture was referred to as "something remarkable" by Kesha's mom, but it was however slammed by Demi Lovato.
Despite the fact that Swift's monetary support was a major help for Kesha, Lovato however stated that it wasn't enough as she urged Swift to "speak out" instead of doing a hand-off approach. After Swift's donation made the headlines, Lovato posted a tweet stating, "Take something to Capitol Hill or actually speak out about something and then I'll be impressed."
One of Demi Lovato's tweets spoke of how frustrated she was when it comes to gender equality. "Frustrating to see women come forward with their past only to be shot down, not believed & disrespected for their bravery in taking action, Happens way too often. I'm ready for women to be taken just as seriously as men."
Lovato then added that, "Someone tell me why anyone would ever feel brave enough to come forward if they are most likely to be ignored or called a liar? I'm also ready for self-proclaimed feminists to start speaking out or taking action for women's rights."
