Huawei Matebook Release Date, Specs, Price, News & Update: Matebook to Surpass iPad Pro, Microsoft Surface?

It has been said that Huawei's new Matebook might surpass the specs and performance of iPad Pro and Microsoft Surf. In fact, it is powered by a premium Microsoft Windows 10 and being boasted to keep pace or even exceed its competitor in the market at the MWC press conference.

According to Ars Technica, the telecommunications equipment and services company equipped a hardware that is much better than Surface. In fact, it's slimmer with 6.9 mm outline just like Apple's iPad Pro while its weight of 649 gram makes it lighter than both iPad Pro and Surface.

Matebook also has soft curves that make it easier to hold and an all-metal unibody chassis with symmetrical sloping surface buttons that gives it a premium feel. It is furnished with 12-inch IPS LCD that gives a sharp resolution with 2160x1440 pixels, 400 nits of brightness and conceals 85 percent NTSC color gamut.

Evidently, it has precise screen resolution, which is as good as Apple or Microsoft can offer. What makes it even better is it sports a thinner bezel at just 10 mm compared to the two said brands.

Moreover, Matebook is stored with 4GB of RAM with 128GB of storage and powered by sixth-gen Intel Core m3 processor. It is, too, battle ready with 33.7Wh high-density battery that can go up to nine hours continuous online use or 29 hours of music playback, BGR reported.

It is also fast charging that easily filled with 60 percent in just one hour and can be fully charged in 2.5 hours. Huawei makes use of Intel's latest chips, called "stacked hardware process" that enables the unit not to carry air cooling.

Meanwhile, Huawei's MateBook has a starting price of $699 for 128GB, which is cheaper than its two greatest competitors. However, its accessories, like the keyboard dock costs $129, MatePen for $59 and MateDock for $89.

MateBook is set to be released tentatively in March in Asia, Europe and North America.
