‘Call of Duty: Black Ops 3’ News & Update: Tops UK Sales Chart, Sets World Record

"Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" set a new world record by topping the U.K. chart sales at number one in sales as monitored by Chart-Track. In fact, the game by Treyarch claimed more number one spots compared to any previous "Call of Duty" titles.

According to Gaming Bolt, "Black Ops 3" was alarmed on the release of "Street Fighter 5," which at number two, because of its strong debut. However, Capcom's game still can't surpass the sales of "Street Fighter 4" on Xbox 360 and PC, which reigns "the benchmark" up to this moment.

Third on the list is "Fifa 16" followed by "LEGO Marvel Avengers" at number four and "Grand Theft Auto 5" at number five. Next is "Star Wars Battlefront" in number six, "Fallout 4" at number seven and "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege" in number eight.

Moreover, the new release of "Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon" is also making waves at number nine while "Minecraft: Story Mode" is still hanging on at the 10th place. Moreover, the debut of "Far Cry Primal" and the much-awaited "Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2" is set to be out in the coming week and might affect the current list of U.K.'s sales chart.

Meanwhile, "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" just recorded its 11th week on the number one spot, without even missing a single week since 2016 has begun. It has been known that "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" from 2009 was the previous record holder for staying at the top for nine weeks, Video Gamer reported.

Additionally, "Black Ops 3" was launched for PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC in November with opening week sales, which has been said "up significantly" as compared to its predecessor, "Call of Duty: Ghosts and Advanced Warfare."

This year, "Call of Duty" is being built by Modern Warfare Studio Infinity Ward. Hence, Activision is expecting the game's sales to be down.
