Since the making of "Wolverine 3" was announced, many were wondering if it's going to be based on the Marvel Comics' story of the "Old Man Logan." A source close to the production recently confirmed that the final sequel will carry the tale of the said material with R-rating.
To recall, the iconic actor of Wolverine, Hugh Jackman, asked his Twitter followers in July 2015 what they wanted to see to happen in the movie. "My last time putting on the claws. What do you want to see happen? 50 words or less. I'll read as many as I can," he tweeted.
As expected, the 47-yaer-old Australian was flooded with a number of suggestions, but the most request was to see him go "berserk," the last battle with Sabertooth and for the film to be R-rated based on the story of the "Old Man Logan." According to Den of Geek, it has been said that the third sequel was really eyeing for the R-rating before "Deadpool" hit the box office over the weekend.
In fact, the flick's director James Mangold was intending "The Wolverine 3" to have a more violent attack to mark the last performance of Jackaman as the clawed superhero. Also, the narrative of "Old Man Logan" was asking the story's flow to be that way.
Meanwhile, the said source material has been known to have ultimate action, which was written by Mark Millar and art from Steve McNiven, Movie Web reported. To recall, the Marvel Comics saga was published in June 2008 and went through until Sep. 2009 ran through the paces of Wolverine #66 up to #72, which also carried the "Wolverine Giant-Sized Old Man Logan."
The book's synopsis showed the aging Logan in the distant post-apocalyptic future. "Magneto, Dr. Doom, and the Red Skull have divided the dystopian United States amongst themselves after the X-Men team comes to a mysterious end," the report said.
And the family man Logan, who already has a wife and two children, chose to leave his Wolverine character and refuse to take out his claws again. The "X-Men" spinoff was set to be released on March 3, 2017.
