The much-awaited Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge were finally out and brought a promising deal. It indeed surprised everyone with its new features and innovation, but with a catch.
users celebrated the return of the expandable storage with microSD slot in the two smartphones of the South Korean multinational electronics company. Also, they are both powered by Android Marshmallow, which has been said the "perfect companion" for memory cards.
It has been known that Marshmallow added up the expandable storage to the internal space. However, the tech giant decided to remove the said feature, according to the Android blog Phandroid.
"Samsung says their decision came down to customer confusion," the publication said as they spoke to a Samsung representative at the recent Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. "They don't want people pulling out the microSD card while it's being used for adoptable storage and potentially making a mess of things."
The tech site also added that the corporation headquartered in Suwon, South Korea should trust their users when it comes to using their mobile phones. Additionally, SamMobile reported that they were just planning to sell Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge with just 32GB storage in the United States.
It was like saying that the said space was already sufficient for all the U.S. users. Furthermore, the only solution was in the Samsung's hands if they updated their software to fully allow Android Marshmallow's support for external storage, their units can go up to more than 32GB space.
Meanwhile, Samsung let their phone carriers priced Galaxy S7. Depending on the network, anyone can have handheld device for as low as $20 to $30 per month for 24 months installment, Tech Insider added.
The full price differed from $550 to $650. Galaxy S7 can be preordered starting Feb. 23 and get a Gear VR, which was about $99, for free in preorder between on the said date to March 11.
