Jennifer Love Hewitt's fiancé, Brian Hallisay, was charged with a battery report after he got into an alleged scuffle with a paparazzo on Friday, according to E! Online.
The LAPD Media Relations confirms that the couple, who are expecting their first child together, had just finished eating dinner at Toscana restaurant in Brentwood, California, when a photographer began snapping photos of the pair as they were leaving the establishment, TMZ reported.
After asking the photographers to stop, apparently to no avail, Hallisay allegedly got physical with the paparazzo, who claims he was injured near his eye after his camera supposedly hit his face during the confrontation.
Hewitt reportedly felt bad about the incident and apparently allowed the cameraman to subsequently take a few more pictures. But following the alleged altercation, the paparazzo went to a police station and filed the report against Hallisay. E! News has been told that there were no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
Meanwhile, Hewitt, 34, got engaged to Brian in July after learning that they were expecting their first child together, but she has now decided to postpone her nuptials until after the baby has been born as she wants to be back to her pre-pregnancy weight on her big day.
The couple who first met on the set of the NBC series Love Bites has decided to keep the sex of their baby a surprise to the public. The couple currently stars together on Lifetime's The Client List.
