Snapchat Update: Let Users Design and Buy Own Custom On-Demand Geofilter

Snapchat now lets its users used On-Deman Geofilters, but with an accompanied price. The new feature will let the application's clients to create their own custom filter in a specific area in any parts of the world.

According to The Next Web, the filter has a starting price of $5 and cover areas from 20,000 to 5,000,000 square feet or quite like the size of a small building to some city blocks. However, the video messaging system doesn't come with assistance as one has to create and upload their own filters, but they offer some templates to start.

Also, the location chosen by the user changes the price of the filter. In fact, 500,000 square feet of geofilter space can cost up to $63 per hour in New York City's Upper West Side while the same area in Yonkers, New York has only $13 rate.

The filter can be approved within just one business day. Meanwhile, using a custom filter can be quick and easy with these instructions by Tech Crunch.

Just go to Snapchat's On-Deman Geofilter page and click "create now." The user then would be prompted to sign in.

After the logged in, the user will be asked to choose from download a template or to upload their own design. If it's the consumer's first time to use, they can opt to download the template.

When the file is already downloaded and unzipped, the user will be presented with a lot of Adobe Photoshop templates. Just pick one that suits their style and start customizing.

When done, save the file as PNG and upload it to Snapchat's On-Demand Geofilter page. They will be prompted of what it looks like.

The user can now choose their preferred date that can go up to a month, a week or even a single day. Also, choose the location on the geofence, draw the address, fence and get the estimated price.

Then, voila! the user will be charged on their credit card and Snapchat will tell them that their Geofilter is ready to use.
