Charlize Theron Is Being Called A Monster Mom After Her Child Threw A Tantrum In Public

Hollywood star Charlize Theron was spotted on Feb. 21 by paparazzi, as she was seen dragging her son from the ground while he was throwing a tantrum in public. Her parenting skills were then questioned after that display on how she handled the situation.

The publication OK! Magazine tweeted the photo of her struggling to calm her son, Jackson, down and even called her a monster mom while she was at it. Some may have found the picture a little bit disturbing, but most Twitter followers responded sharing their sentiments with the 40-year-old actress.

The magazine was immediately called out by Twitter users for their abrupt judgment towards Theron's parenting skills. Here are some of the replies made by fans on Twitter as they try to defend the actress' action from what the paparazzi has snapped.

In an article published by Café Mom, they too are taking Theron's side on this issue saying that it is not appropriate that she is quickly labeled as a "monster mom" or a terrible mother just because she is going through something that is normal for a mother to encounter. Photos like that could call the attention of child services as some would even think it could be a ground for child abuse.

Cafe Mom said that Theron doesn't look like she was harassing her 4-year-old kid anyway, but rather was simply trying to deal with his tantrum like what kids his age usually do. Red Book Magazine also took Theron's side stating that although the picture might look bad, it is quite obvious that she was only doing what she can to remove her son from a busy parking lot.

OK! Magazine asked a Family Relationship Psychotherapist, Dr. Gilda Carle about what could have Theron done in order to have the whole scene prevented. "She's got to find out what's on his mind by asking him and letting him talk about his feelings," Dr. Gilda responded. "Not dragging him around."
