"X-Men: Apocalypse" is one of the strongest illustrations of the impact of what director Bryan Singer accomplished with Fox when they took "X-Men" into the reboot grind. "X-Men: Apocalypse" may seem nothing more than another box office giant. However, "X-Men" followers who have had their ups and downs with "X-Men" 1, 2, 3 and "X-Men" spin-offs will be sure to notice the reach of the ripples that "X-Men: Days Future Past" has created in the "X-Men" universe.
As Screen Rants reports, Bryan Singer laid out how his intentions from the dynamics of "X-Men: Days Of Future Past" will reflect onto "X-Men: Apocalypse" and future "X-Men" films. "I rebooted the universe so now anything can happen," Singer said. "So here's the plan, in my head... What happens when you use 'Days of Future Past' to erase movies like 'X1,' 2 and 3 - yes you can erase those events that occurred - but I also was very adamant... to make sure we have that Beast/Hank McCoy talk about the theory of time's immutability, because that defines what I'm doing with this universe and with these prequels to 'X1,' 2 and 3. Which are erased? Or are they not? Does that make any sense?"
With those cryptic words, fans can judge as the changes unfold in "X-Men: Apocalypse" bringing with it some of the biggest surprises in the "X-Men" universe. In a separate story, Screen Rant reports that main characters in "X-Men: Apocalypse" including Raven/Mystique played by Jennifer Lawrence ("Passengers"), Scott Summers/Cyclops played by Tye Sheridan ("The Yellow Birds"), Jubillee/Jubilation Lee played by Lana Candor, Magneto/ Erik Lensherr played by Michael Fassbender ("Assassin's Creed") and Jean Grey played by Sophie Turner ("Game Of Thrones") are among those that viewers should watch out for in terms of these.
The key point that fans should take away from "X-Men: Days Of Future Past" and bring into "X-Men: Apocalypse" is that timelines have been altered to unimaginable extents. The only thread that fans will not be able to resolve right away in "X-Men: Apocalypse" is Logan/Wolverine's (Hugh Jackman, "Eddie The Eagle") thread. For that fans will have to wait for Hugh Jackman's final stint as Wolverine in "Wolverine 3," which hopefully won't come too long after "X-Men: Apocalypse." Word however says that "X-Men: Apocalypse" will give a general idea of where Wolverine had gone after "X-Men: Days Of Future Past."
