Rapper and comedian Nick Cannon claimed that he has become a better father to his twins with ex-wife Mariah Carey after they split two years ago. He noted that he had better control of things when he became single.
In an interview with E!, the 35-year-old actor said that it has been great taking on the role as a co-parent for their twins. Cannon said he was able to place everything "in the proper perspective."
I think it actually allows us to be better parents, because when it's that time, we don't think about ourselves at all," he said. "We are extremely selfless and make it all about the kids."
However, he claimed that she can be an overprotective father sometimes especially when it concerns the love live of 4-year-old Moroccan. Cannon said she recently told him that she was already married.
"I did not even know how to react. I was crushed when she said that to me!" the comedian added.
Cannon also admitted that her daughter's announcement made him weak to the knees. But he explained that the boy that Moroccan was referring to was his godson.
As for Monroe, the actor said that he finds it easy to talk to him. "He is enjoying it. I just bought him the Sports Illustrated magazine Sunday. Me and him are on the same page, but my daughter, I don't even know how I am going to handle it!" he added.
Meanwhile, the Radio Shack chief creative officer also admitted that he remains single but claimed that he enjoys it a lot. He maintained that he is more focused on his career and on taking care of his children.
"I don't even want to get involved in that - I got too many jobs," Cannon noted. When can I focus on that? I'm comfortable being dad, I'm comfortable being CCO, I'm not comfortable being boyfriend."
