Charlie Sheen HIV Diagnosis News Update: 'Scary Movie 5' Actor Stops HIV Medication in Search for Alternative Medicine

After Charlie Sheen shocked Hollywood as well as his fans about his revelations on contacting HIV, he now seems to grow wary of the conventional medical treatment that he recently revealed shying away from it. People featured Sheen's interview on The Dr. Oz Show where he revealed, he stopped taking meds in exchange for some alternative medicine.

"I've been off my meds for about a week now, am I risking my life? Sure. So What? I was born dead," he said in his interview. "That part of it doesn't phase me at all." The interview however, transpired on a pre-taped segment for The Dr. Oz Show, something that his manager Mark Burg now retracts.

According to Burg, Sheen indeed stopped taking his meds for a while after he sought medical help from a doctor in Mexico. He also said that, as soon as the numbers were increased, Sheen went back to taking his regular meds.

His manager said that Sheen promised to take his meds on his flight back home. In a studio interview for the said show, Sheen revealed seeking the help of Dr. Sam Chachoua for his treatment. Dr. Oz, on the other hand, made a revelation that Dr. Chachoua is not a licensed medical practitioner in the United States.

According to Dr. Oz during an interview with Chachoua, he was so confident about his claims on working on an HIV vaccine that he even tried injecting Sheen's blood to his body. "I drew some blood from him and I injected myself with it and I said, 'Charlie, if I don't know what I'm doing, then we're both in trouble now, aren't we?'" he said over the phone. He also claims Charlie has been healed without the use of any anti viral therapy.

It was November last year when Charlie Sheen first revealed he has contacted the HIV virus. At the time, his virus count was tolerable, giving him the edge of not being able to transmit the virus to others. However, on his interview with Dr. Oz, he revealed that his number has gotten worse and his HIV virus has been detectable.

He also expressed his disappointment over that news that came to light just before he went in for the interview. His medication in Mexico is another thing he doesn't want to recommend to anyone. Dr. Robert Huizenga, Sheen's doctor, expressed his concern over the actor's HIV development saying "It would just break my heart if you did anything where you threw that opportunity."
