Levi Johnston revealed on Feb. 23 that he has won the custody battle to co-parent his son, Tripp Johnston, with his ex-fiancé, Bristol Palin. He posted his victory on Facebook and has no regrets on spending about $100,000 for lawyer fees because he thinks it was all worth now that he could be around his son.
The seven-year custody battle has finally paid off for Johnston, as he didn't stop until the court rules that he could co-parent his son along with her ex-fiancé, Bristol Palin (Sarah Palin's daughter). In an article published by E! Online, they wrote a quick flashback on what happened with the former couple and how this whole child custody battle even began.
Apparently, back in 2009, Levi said that Bristol's whole family was making it hard for him to be around his son, which is why he decided to file charges against his ex-fiancé in order to get a joint custody. A year after that, Levi and Bristol decided to settle by having the former visit Tripp on Saturdays from 9 AM to 4 PM and Wednesdays from 12 PM to 6 PM. The two were okay with it, but the court didn't really approve of their stipulation, which is why it never became official.
Levi didn't stop and finally decided to fight back that he filed another case requesting for equal custody of their son. And now, it is 2016 and Johnston was granted by the court to father his 7-year-old son as a co-parent with his ex.
U.S. Weekly quoted Johnston's Facebook post saying, "I'm so happy to have my son in my life, and to put all of this back in forth in the courts behind me. It might have taken me 7 years and cost me around $100,000 in lawyer fees, spread out among 3 different lawyers, as well as a lot of patience, but it was all worth it."
