Celine Dion Didn’t Attend Brother’s Funeral To Attend Husband Rene Angeli's Funeral

Celine Dion did not attend her brother's funeral, which was held at St-Simon-et-Jude parish in Charlemagne, Québec. She also bids farewell to husband Rene Angelil at the Notre-Dame Basilica, the same cathedral where they were married, on Friday.

Unfortunately, New York Daily News reported that the "My Heart Will Go On" songstress attended a service for her brother Daniel Dion the next day at the Salon Charles Rajotte funeral home in Repentigny, Montreal. She and her children reportedly could not continue two more days of public mourning as per Entertainment Tonight.

Daniel, who was eighth of 14 children in the Dion family, died because of cancer last Jan. 16. USA Today reported that he had two daughters named Valérie and Marie-Michelle and also two adorable grandchildren.

On the other hand, the singer attended a religious service for her husband with their 5-year-old twins, Nelson and Eddy. And also her older son, René-Charles which was escorted by Dion's mother Therese.

Fans were able to fill the space along the aisles and outside area. There's a time, Celine's "All The Way" hit song was played loudly through speakers.

The singer was spotted wearing a black dress with a veil over her face. She was obviously emotional as they made the processional towards the casket of her late husband.

During the funeral, Rene-Charles, who will be 15 next week, gave a touching eulogy. According to CBC News, he said that fifteen years is not enough to get to know his father.

"Dad, you are a tough act to follow, but with your help, everything is going to be fine," René-Charles added. "Dad, I promise you we are all going to live up to your standards."

Angélil was reportedly planning his own funeral before he died as one of his final acts of love to his wife. He doesn't want to hassle Celine preparing his funeral.
