Eight-Year-Old North Carolina Boy Asks Santa To Stop Schoolmates from Bullying his Sister

What does an eight-year-old boy ask Santa to gift him for Christmas? If you think it is toys or video games, then a young boy from North Carolina proves you wrong; for he is asking Santa to give a bully-free life to his twin sister.

Karen Suffern, a single mother, asked the fraternal twins, Ryan and Amber, to write their wish lists for Christmas so that she could save money to buy presents for the occasion. What the mother did not know was that Ryan wanted something else instead of toys and video games.

"Dear Santa, I wanted a remot contor [sic] car and helicopter but I do not want that anymor [sic]. Kids at school are still picking on Amber and its [sic] not fair because she doesnt [sic] do anything to them and it makes me mad. I prayed that they would stop, but god is bisy [sic] and needs your help," Ryan wrote.

Amber suffers from ADHD and is an emotional eater. Her schoolmates pick on her due to her weight. She weights nearly 140 pounds. Her mother tries to build Amber's confidence by saying she is beautiful. "I try to build up my daughter's self-esteem and tell her she is beautiful, but people say hurtful things to me, because I also have a weight problem, and that hurts me," Karen told CNN. "I can't imagine what she goes through."

"If my kids don't call names and pick on others, I would expect other parents to teach their kids to be respectful, too," she said. "There have been times my kids would point at others and say, 'why is her hair so strange' and things like that, and I would say, 'You know, people are different, and that is just the way they are.'"

Karen said she hoped her son's letter will help bring people's attention to bullying of children at school. Ryan signed off the letter saying, "Is it against the rules to give a gift early? Can you ask Big Time Rush to come to Amber's B-day party, it will make her so happy."
