The mother of the 7-year-old boy, who was removed from a plane due to allergic reactions, was dismayed by the passengers' cheerful reactions -- likewise, to the flight attendant's attitude. Read on to know their story.
Christina Fabian-Roman said she along with her son Giovanni and husband, George Alvarado, who has terminal stage-4 cancer, were about to go home to Phoenix after a meaningful vacation to Bellingham, Wash. But while waiting for the Allegiant Airline to leave, her son began to have an allergic reaction to a dog, which was in fact listed on the manifest as a service animal. Hence, she informed the flight attendant about her son's condition.
Thus, the whole family was moved to different seats. The airport medical team, however, determined it was unsafe for the child to fly and the family was asked to debark the aircraft. But what happens next was the most painful for the family because when they started taking their belongings some the people in "the back of the plane clapped," Fabian-Roman told King 5.
Both parents were greatly saddened by it as they realized that their son was blaming himself for the delayed. "What crushed us was that our 7-year-old boy looked at us with tear-filled eyes and said, "I'm sorry that I put you through this." Fabian shared to her Facebook page. "This is all my fault."
Fabian also said she was greatly disappointed with the flight attendant's attitude. "It wasn't the flight attendant's fault we got off the plane," she said. "It was the flight attendant's attitude that perpetuated people's agitated behavior around us," she said. "It's just the comments she had made."
Apparently, the trip was part of George's bucket list -- hoping he could have a great vacation with his family before he dies. "What passengers on the flight didn't know is the trip to Bellingham was on a bucket list," Giovanni exclaimed to King 5.
Allegiant, on the other hand, said to KTAR they already apologized to the family and took the necessary measures to ensure any necessary improvements in the airline's services.
