Following the highly anticipated official launch earlier this month, the game "Assassin's Creed Identity" was also released by the developer company Ubisoft for iPhone and iPad worldwide.
"Assassin's Creed Identity" is a popular action role-playing game that allows users to create, customize, and play as Assassins. The action of the game takes place during the Italian Renaissance. The quests and story missions in the game are in key locations of the era, such as the Coliseum, Florence.
The game features open sandbox levels, three classes of assassins and various customization options. "Assassin's Creed Identity" also allows full freedom of movement, in a first for the franchise on iOS. Players can jump, run and climb as they explore various locations and take on quests.
The "Assassin's Creed" game franchise has already been on mobile before in several iterations, according to MacRumors. However, "Assassin's Creed Identity" is the first mobile game of the series to truly simulate the play style of the PC and console games.
"Assassin's Creed Identity" has had something of a stuttered release until now. It first appeared in September 2014 in the Australian and New Zealand App Stores, but it disappeared last month.
TouchArcade explains that back in September 2014 the game was soft-launched in select countries. "Assassin's Creed Identity" was built around quick missions conductive to mobile play. It was the first of the game franchise on iOS to be built around the traditional open-world mechanics of the PC and console game series.
The game remained free to play in soft-launch until late last month and then it disappeared without warning from the App Store. Ubisoft announced just a few days later that the game was reconfigured as a paid title and was officially launched on iOS on Feb 25.
"Assassin's Creed Identity" is priced $4.99 in the App Store. The game is optimized for iPad 3, iPhone 5 and newer devices running iOS 7.0 or later.
