A Georgia mother has been arrested and sentenced to life in prison after she killed her two young sons by putting them in the oven.
Lamora Williams, who was 24 at the time of the crime, was initially arrested in October 2017 when police officers discovered the dead bodies of her two sons, aged 1 and 2.
Williams allegedly told police that she had left her children in the care of a relative around noon of Oct. 13, 2017, and only found the body of her kids about 11:30 p.m. the same night when she returned home. However, initial investigations led police to determine that the children were not left with a caregiver, according to PEOPLE magazine, citing Atlanta police.
How Did the Children Die?
Williams called 911 after she claimed she found the bodies of her sons. Per the 911 call, Williams told the dispatcher that her children were dead and their caregiver was missing.
"When I came in, the stove was laying on my son, on my youngest son's head, and my other son was laid out on the floor with his brains laid out on the floor," she said, as quoted by Law and Crime.

The then 24-year-old mom further told the dispatcher that she had just gotten home from work in the moments before making the 911 call.
However, subsequent investigations revealed that there was never a caregiver and that Williams intentionally killed her toddlers by tipping over the oven above her young sons and turning it on. Specifically, autopsy reports noted that the boys' heads were stuck in the oven. Officers believed the children were burned between midnight on Oct. 12, 2017, to 11 p.m. the next day.
Furthermore, police discovered that Williams called the father of her sons, Jameel Penn, to show him a live video of his children lying lifeless on the floor. He also called 911 at about the same time as Williams.
What Charges Is She Facing?
Williams faced 14 charges, including felony murder, cruelty to children, and giving false statements to the police. A jury found her guilty of all charges on Nov. 15, 2024. She is set to spend the rest of her life in prison, per Fox 5 Atlanta.
