"The Hateful Eight" actor Demian Bichir will join the cast of "Alien: Covenant," the much-anticipated sequel to "Prometheus." He will reportedly join Michael Fassbender, Danny McBride and Katherine Waterson in Ridley Scott's sequel.
Last seen in Quentin Tarantino's movie "The Hateful Eight," Demian Bichir is lined up to appear in the sequel of "Prometheus", reports Movie News Guide. "Alien: Covenant" is the second part of the sequel trilogy of the franchise. While there are no further details on Bichir's role in the upcoming sequel, the story will follow a colony ship called "Covenant" that is set to travel to a remote planet found on the edge of the galaxy.
Indian Express further narrates that what was thought to be an unknown paradise is actually a treacherous and deadly world. The only inhabitant of the place is David (Fassbender), a synthetic android who survived the doomed Prometheus expedition.
Bichir will also act alongside Waterson whose character is also kept under wraps. However, he presumed to take on the role of Daniels according to Movie News Guide. The Playlist adds that other cast members include Amy Semetz, Jussie Smollet, Carmen Ejogo and Callie Hernandez. Like Bichir, their roles in the film have not been revealed as of date.
Movie News Guide also added that Jack Paglen from "Transcendence" and Michael Green from "Green Lantern" will write the screenplay for "Alien: Covenant". Meanwhile, The Playlist reports that Harry Gregson-Williams will likely provide the musical scoring for the sequel as well. He is reported to previously score music for "The Martian" and the "Kingdom of Heaven".
The "Alien: Covenant" is reported to start film production in April in Australia. The film is slated to be released in theaters on Oct. 6, 2017, by 20th Century Fox. Check out the fan-made trailer of the sequel in the video below:
