Here are five practical ways working parents can strengthen their relationships with their children, using simple daily opportunities to create lasting connections.
1. Have open-ended conversations during commutes
Use car rides to and from school or activities as a chance to chat with your kids. Ask specific questions like "What made you laugh today?" or "Who did you play with at recess?" instead of the standard "How was your day?". When children are sitting beside you without direct eye contact, they often feel more comfortable opening up about their thoughts and feelings.
