Sports Illustrated model Chrissy Teigen said on Feb. 23 that she would still keep her gorgeous body and make effort to look good for her husband, John Legend, during and after pregnancy. This is such a good inspiration for all mothers out there that have let themselves go just because they already became a mom.
In an interview with U.S. Weekly Teigen said, "I don't want John to feel like I've given up." She revealed to the magazine that she considers her husband whenever she is not dolled up and just has to dress down at home. She also said that if it is just up to her, she would just dress for comfort, but then she also realizes that dressing completely down won't make her feel awesome. She still wants to feel sexy, which is why she would go for something with silk and anything that would make her feel lighter.
Teigen's words about her not wanting her husband to think she's done trying just because she is pregnant is exactly what other mothers and wives need to hear. Oftentimes when a woman starts to get pregnant, it would be easy for her to let go and no longer look her best.
In an article published by 2KnowMyself, there are many reasons why women do this to themselves. One is because getting married has become their ultimate goal. Once that is done, they feel like they have already achieved it, so there is no point to try and look good anymore. They also assume a new identity, thinking that being a mother now or being pregnant would create a new image in them as looking good is not supposed to be one of those.
The truth is, you still have to try and look your best all the time, especially when you have a partner to look good for. Looking good is important in marriage as well, so do it for your partner, but most importantly, do it for yourself.
