A toddler was reportedly kicked out of nursery for being "transphobic" following alleged "abuse against sexual orientation and gender identity," sparking outrage among the child's parents.

Data from the Department of Education revealed that the toddler, who was either three or four years old, was suspended from a state school roughly three years ago. Now, numbers have been revealed that show the shocking frequency of similar incidents happening.

Toddler Kicked Out of Nursery Over "Transphobia"

The details regarding the specific school or the case were not revealed, but the toddler was found to have been one of many who were suspended for similar reasons. It was shown that 94 students at state primary schools were suspended, with some being permanently excluded, for alleged transphobia and homophobia during the 2022-23 academic year.

Among the affected children, 10 were from Year 1, while three were in Year 2, which is where the maximum possible age of students was only seven. However, the latest data also revealed the shocking case of the toddler who was kicked out of nursery, according to The Sun.

Helen Joyce, the director of advocacy at Sex Matters, said that now and then, a story about the extremes of gender ideology surfaces. She said that the case of the toddler who was suspended for such reasons was one such example.

Joyce also said that the shocking case did not appear to be an isolated incident, noting that 13 other kids, aged four and five, were suspended or permanently excluded from the school for the same reasons.

She added that the teachers and school leaders who are involved in the series of suspensions should be ashamed of themselves. Joyce said they are projecting adult concepts and beliefs to very young kids, as the Daily Mail reported.

Homophobic or Transphobic Behavior

Data also revealed that the number of pupils suspended or expelled for homophobic or transphobic behavior across all primary schools rose from 164 to 178 from 2021-22 to 2022-23. Essex had the highest number of these, at 16, in 2022-23.

The director of the Free Speech Union, Lord Young, said that having an ideology that punishes toddlers for not complying is a reason to discard such ideas. On the other hand, the Department of Education said that all students and staff should have a sense of safety and feel protected at school.

The situation comes as the Supreme Court late last year heard a challenge to a law that bans gender-affirming care for trans kids. The challenged bill was introduced by Tennessee state Sen. Jack Johnson, which disallowed access to hormones, puberty blockers, and other treatments for trans kids in the state, as per NPR.
