The shooting happened in an area that is only a few blocks away from a separate incident that occurred two weeks ago and also resulted in a teenager being fatally shot. The previous shooting happened on Portland Avenue, between E 43rd Street and E 44th Street, according to Yahoo News.

Law enforcement authorities have so far also now made any arrest concerning that particular shooting and officials have not clarified whether or not the two cases may be connected to each other.

Tacoma Police Department spokesperson Shelbie Boyd added that there was another incident in the area on Monday. This was where officials received calls from people in the neighborhood regarding shots fired near East 41st Street and Salishan Boulevard.

Fortunately, that particular incident did not cause any injuries or fatalities and it is currently not known if it is also connected to the recent happenings. Officials said that detectives will review the details of the shooting once reports are filed, The News Tribune reported.
