Liam Hemsworth has graciously allowed ex-fiancé Miley Cyrus to keep the $250,000 engagement ring as a token of their relationship.
Miley and Liam got engaged in June 2012 , but have not had a smooth ride. They split twice and got back together. Although they seemed to be head over heels in love, the critics had qualms over their relationship, saying that they were too young for such a commitment. And finally, the young couple announced their separation recently.
However, as a souvenir of their troubled-yet-happy relationship Liam decided to let the 20-year-old 'Wrecking Ball' star keep the classy solitaire. "When Liam bought that ring, he truly believed he would be spending the rest of his life with her. Now he realizes they are both just too young to be ready for such a big commitment," a source told RadarOnline.com.
The relationship meant so much so that the 23-year-old 'Paranoia' actor took a keen interest in designing the ring. The hand-cut vintage 3.5 carats diamond ring was designed by Neil Lane. He was intensely "involved" in designing the ring, a New York Daily report said.
"He wanted something really romantic and beautiful," Lane said after the couple announced their engagement in 2012. "It's really romantic, so she'll always remember the day he gave it to her."
The relationship broke over Miley's partying and over the top behavior and Liam's alleged cheating. Recently reports have surfaced about Hemsworth moving on with Mexican actress Eiza González.
