Reese Witherspoon and husband Jim Toth welcomed their first child Thursday, a baby boy.
The 38-year-old actress's rep. confirmed the news to People magazine.
"Reese Witherspoon and husband Jim Toth welcomed Tennessee James into their family today," the rep told People magazine. "Both mom and baby are healthy and the entire family is thrilled."
The actress's love for the state where she spent her childhood in fact can be noted in her son's name, Tennessee James.
"It reminds me of growing up in Tennessee, where we spent all day outside," Elle Décor quoted the actress talking about her Witherspoon California ranch. "I wanted my children to have that experience, to get muddy and hang out with the animals."
Witherspoon has two children, 12-year-old daughter Ava Elizabeth and 8-year-old Deacon Reese from her seven-year marriage with actor Ryan Philippe.
After her split with Philippe, Witherspoon started dating Toth a talent agent and an employee in the Creative Artists Agency. The couple tied the knot in 2011.
According to the reports, the actress expressed her wish to have a child with Toth, shortly after marriage and even considered her children's opinion in taking a decision.
"Right after the wedding, Reese expressed a desire to have a baby with Jim," a source told People magazine earlier. "All along, Reese has been very open with her kids about her plans to expand the family."
Speculations about the "Legally Blonde" star's third pregnancy were going on from March. However, it was only in June the actress, who loves babies, confirmed the news.
"I would love to have more kids," Reese told Britain's Closer magazine in January. "My children are the best part of my day."
