The quote "It is better to give than it is to receive" is applicable to many things but not to oral sex. A new study found that women are more likely to give oral sex but are less likely to receive pleasure while doing so compared to men.
Medical Daily reports that the research was published in The Canadian Journal of Human Sexuality. The study was conducted by researchers from the University of Guelph along with the two other marketing and research companies. It involved the participation of 1,500 undergraduate students, aged 18 to 24.
Approximately 70 percent of the 900 heterosexual participants was reported having experienced giving or receiving oral sex. About 26 percent of the female heterosexual participants have given but have not yet received oral sex compared to only 10 percent of the male heterosexual participants.
Those participants also rated the amount of pleasure they got while giving oral sex to their partners. More than 50 percent of the male heterosexual participants very much enjoyed giving oral sex to their partners compared to only 28 percent of the female heterosexual participants.
More than 40 percent of the male heterosexual participants somewhat enjoyed giving oral sex, compared to 55 percent of the female heterosexual participants. Only seven percent of the male heterosexual participants did not find pleasure in giving oral sex, compared to 17 percent of the female heterosexual participants.
The study also revealed that both men and women get more pleasure giving oral sex to serious romantic partners compared to giving oral sex to casual partners or hook-ups.
Giving and receiving oral sex have a lot of health benefits for both males and females. Healthise reports that oral sex relieves stress, strengthens immune system, burns calories, lowers blood pressure levels, decreases body pain, reduces depression and promotes a closer and stronger bond between couples.
