Celebrity nanny Rachel Waddilove has revealed her secrets to make babies sleep better. With clients like actress Gwyneth Paltrow and Minnie Driver, the sleep expert is the go-to person when it comes to taking care of young kids.
BabyCenter noted that both celebrities are big fans of Waddilove's services. Driver even claimed that the super-nanny has been a big help to her especially when she was a new mom to son Henry. "Rachel has a calmness, and knowledge about babies and children, that not only helped me soothe and ease the journey for me son, but also for me! Her tips and advice are invaluable," Driver said.
For her part, Paltrow noted that Waddilove's 40-year experience with taking care of babies enables her to give "invaluable" advice to moms like her. Her expertise is greatly sought when it comes to the sleeping habits of infants.
One of her key advice to parents, according to US Weekly, is to ensure that their babies have a full stomach before sleeping and to let them burp prior to going to bed. "Babies with gas will not settle. Sit him up straight on your lap, then put one hand on his back and the other on his tummy and gently pat his back," she instructed.
Waddilove also said that wrapping a baby "like a burrito" will make him or her feel secure thus making them fall asleep faster and better. Another secret to a happy and healthy child, especially those between 1-12 weeks, is to make them nap every 90 minutes.
The baby sleep expert also claimed that having a routine before bedtime is also vital to make them have a good sleep. "Play a musical toy with a gentle lullaby that she will associate with sleep. Then turn off the light and leave the room." This will teach the baby how to self-settle," she noted in the US Weekly report.
