For "Alice Through The Looking Glass," Disney reached out to Pink to write a new song for the upcoming film. But little did the mother-of-one know that 4-year-old Willow Sage would serve as great inspiration for the track.
The 36-year-old Grammy award singer brought little Willow to an early screening of "Alice Through the Looking Glass," where Pink shared who her biggest critic is.
"I know everybody with kids says this - that their kids are their barometer of cool - but Willow tells me which songs of mine she likes and the way does that is she just starts singing them after one listen," Pink told People.
"She is my inspiration for everything," says Pink. "I think of little girls like her when I'm doing something like this because I want it to be fun. I think of that spirit Willow has, where she's totally uninhibited and wants to dance around naked and that's how I go into the song."
Because the film won't be out until a few months, it'll take a while before anyone gets to hear the new song Pink just penned. However, she is doing a cover of Jefferson Airplane's "White Rabbit" for "Alice Through the Looking Glass," which you can watch below.
"Alice Through the Looking Glass" stars Johnny Depp, Anne Hathway, Mia Wasikowska, Helena Bonham Carter, Sacha Baron Cohen and Rhys Ifans. Tim Burton, who served as a director on "Alice in Wonderland," will produce "Alice Through The Looking Glass," as per The Hollywood Reporter.
Directed by James Bobin and written by Linda Woolverton, "Alice Through the Looking Glass" release date is on May 27.
