Several fans have been disappointed when George R.R. Martin announced last month that he cannot finish "The Winds of Winter" on time. With the New Mexican author's announcement, many went berserk and got mad as the upcoming season of "Game of Thrones" will be released in few months.
No 'The Winds of Winter' spoilers on 'Games of Thrones' Season 6
Diehard fans are concerned that the upcoming "Game of Thrones" Season 6, which is based on "The Winds of Winter" plot, will be revealing several things on TV screens that will result in poor sales of the book. However, as most of fans have speculated, George recently announced that he will be including some twists in "The Winds of Winter" that will not be shown in the "Game of Thrones" TV series.
"I have decided to do it. Will you know it? I don't know. It is fairly obvious because it is something that involves a couple of characters, one of which is dead on the show, and not dead in the books," George told IGN in an exclusive interview. "So the show can't do it, unfortunately, because they have killed someone I have not killed."
While fans are still mourning over the latest delay of "The Wind of Winter," Martin has lit up a little light of hope as he confirmed that the "Game of Thrones" Season 6 TV show will not be spoiling anything on the seventh installment of "The Song of Ice and Fire" book series. "Some of the 'spoilers' you may encounter in season six may not be spoilers at all ... because the show and the books have diverged, and will continue to do so," George said.
Dead 'Game of Thrones' Characters are still alive in 'The Winds of Winter'
Moreover, George even revealed that there are more or less 15 characters in the "Game of Thrones" who are dead but are still alive in "The Song of Ice and Fire" books. Hence, fans should expect a "bloodier" and more exciting scenes in the upcoming "The Winds of Winter" book.
'The Winds of Winter' release date
As for its release date, Parent Herald previously reported that "The Winds of Winter" will be released by late 2016 or early 2017. However, nothing is confirmed as of yet.
To recall, George ascribed his failure to deliver "The Winds of Winter" on time to several "distractions" that caused him to stop writing from time to time. "It is what it is, and ideally I wish I could hold up The Winds of Winter right now and tell everyone to go buy it ... but it is still not done so all I can do is continue to write it," he said.
