Shakira Won't Allow Son to Watch TV Until He's 2: Find Out Why

Shakira is strict to her kids when it comes to watching television. The Colombian singer claimed that she is still not allowing 1-year-old son Sasha to view TV shows because he is too young.

Latin Times reported that the "Zootopia" cast member has allowed 3-year-old son Milan to watch the animated film but not Sasha. "Milan has watched the movie twice, once in English and once in Spanish," Shakira said.

The singer who plays Gazelle, a famous pop star in the film, said she found it a bit hard to make Milan understand her role in the movie. "[It] was a bit challenging, but he's getting the concept," she added.

But for Sasha, the "Hips Don't Lie" singer claimed that the may have to wait one more year before he can watch the movie. "Sasha can't see it yet because he's too little, he's only 1," Shakira noted. "Pediatricians in America say that kids cannot watch TV until they are 2 years old, so he's going to have to wait one more year to watch 'Zootopia,'" she was quoted by Latin Times as saying.

The toddler, however, has loved the doll version of the character. In an Instagram post, the 39-year-old diva shared how much Sasha adored Gazelle. "Sasha likes Gazelle so much, he's been eating her fringe skirt!!" read Shakira's caption.

She also shared with Entertainment Tonight that she instantly loved her character when it was first presented to her. Shakira said they were alike in so many ways.

"I felt identified with her because she's opinionated like me, she's got many aspects of my own personality," she noted. "But when they told me about Judy Hopps [Ginnifer Goodwin], the little bunny who is a little creature dreaming about big dreams, it reminded me a lot of my own story, you know?"

The singer said that just like Hopps, she is also a small girl with big dreams. Shakira added that she also fought "against different obstacles all my life to make it here."
