The Advantages Of Being A Working Mom; Know WhyYou Shouldn't Be Guilty Of Working Than Being A Full-Time Mom

Many say that being a mother is the most rewarding thing that could happen in a woman's life, and for many, it really is. However, in today's modern world, it is not always advisable, especially if there are tons of bills that need to be paid.

Don't worry, though, the modern world allows women to work outside their homes, and as it turns out, being a female in the workforce does not make one a bad mother or wife. In fact, there are a lot of advantages to following your own career path. Here are some of them:

  • You have balance in your life: Parents love spending time with their children. However, that doesn't necessarily mean that you can spend 24/7 of your time with them, especially when they start going to school. Working moms have children time and adult time, so you don't wrap yourself too much around your little tykes and lose your identity in the process.
  • You can take care of yourself: When money gets tight around the house, moms would gladly give up something they want so that they can give more for their children. However, when you work, that means you have money to take care of yourself and add to the family budget, so it's economically wise.
  • You're raising kids who value work as much as they do to their families: A study from Harvard Business School showed that men who were raised by working mothers spend more time on chores and in caring for family members. Researcher Kathleen McGinn told Buzzfeed, "Sons of working mothers see something really different and that is, everybody has to pitch in here."

So if you're a mother who is working, or planning on working, don't feel guilty. As it turns out, the benefits of being a working mom do not only extend to you, but to the rest of the family as well.
