There is emerging news that Liev Schreiber is going to reprise his role as Sabretooth in the upcoming movie, "Wolverine 3." The 48-year-old star admits that he and the movie's lead star, Hugh Jackman, already discussed it.
"We talked about it," Liev Schreiber told MTV News on the red carpet of Academy Awards on Feb. 28. "I don't know. He's mentioned it to me. The Old Man Logan story - that's appealing. That's something that I can do. Old, being the operative word."
To recall, the director played as Victor Creed, also known as Sabretooth, in 2009's "X-Men Origins: Wolverine." However, some wanted to forget that the movie took place as fortunately, "X-Men: Days of the Future Past" reset the timeline.
In fact, Liev Schreiber implied that he was interested in reprising his role in "Wolverine 3" when he talked to Jimmy Fallon last year. "I heard that the storyline is Old Man Logan, and when I heard that I thought, well, you know, there's Old Man Logan, there could be Old Man Sabretooth," he said.
However, he noted that he was not even sure if he will be invited to the last movie of the 47-year-old actor as the clawed superhero. Hence, what he said to MTV was just part of his discussion with Hugh Jackman as people behind the film were not yet confirming anything about it as of this writing.
Meanwhile, details about "Wolverine 3" keep under wraps, although it has been always said that it will evolve into the story of the "Old Man Logan." The plot will take place over 50 years in the future when Wolverine is already old and now living with his family and then Hawkeye will need him for his last and final mission.
Patrick Stewart is going to join Hugh Jackman in "Wolverine 3" as Professor X as James Mangold is going to direct the film with a screenplay by Michael Green. "Wolverine 3" is going to hit the theaters on March 2, 2017.
