Is It Just A Simple Dizziness Or Already A Vertigo?

Have you experienced a sudden dizziness or a tilting sensation while walking on the street or sitting down working in the office? If you did then you may have a balance problem known as vertigo.

If you are curious how it feels, you can try to spin yourself several times in one place then stop abruptly. You will notice that your environment continues to spin even though you already stopped. This is a temporary feeling of vertigo.

Common causes of vertigos are inner ear infections where the nerves surrounding your ear are inflamed or a buildup of fluid that causes pressure on the nerves. Vertigo may happen even if you are just sitting still or just walking around.

If this happens too often and affects your daily routine accompanied with vomiting or fast heartbeat then you have a serious trouble. According to WebMD, there are three 3kinds of vertigo called the mild, moderate and severe vertigo.

1. Mild vertigo is when you experience dizziness or a spinning sensation occasionally and this only lasts for a short period of time. It can be accompanied by nausea.

2. Moderate vertigo is when your dizziness or spinning sensation can only be stopped with you lie down and keeping your head still. This can likely cause vomiting when you feel nauseous.

3. Severe vertigo is when you continue to feel dizzy even if you already lied down and stopped your head from moving. You may experience vomiting often and takes out most of the fluid you intake.

Vertigo can be treated and most of the treatments have a high success rate. For treatments, you need to see an ear, nose and throat specialists or commonly called ENT doctors as suggested in an article from CBSNews. Treatments depend on the specific cause of your vertigo.

For benign paroxysmal positional vertigo cause, you can go through a physical therapy where you will have to perform an exercise of your head which can cause a movement of the nerves around your ear.

If vertigo is caused by Meniere's disease where there is a fluid buildup causing pressure inside your ear, you may have to lower down your sodium intake. A change of diet is prescribed.
