The two iconic extraterrestrial monsters, Alien and Predator, are about to hit the big screen once again, but not as enemies. Twentieth Century Fox announced the release of "Alien: Covenant" on Aug. 4, 2017 while, "The Predator" will be out on March 2, 2018.
The "Prometheus" sequel will star Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Demián Bichir and Danny McBride. They are all set to go to a devastated planet with "Watchmen's" Billy Crudup, Amy Seimetz, Jussie Smollett, Carmen Ejogo, Alex England and Callie Hernandez.
The movie's plot goes: "Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world - whose sole inhabitant is the "synthetic" David (Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition."
However, there are swirling rumors that Noomi Rapace is not going to reprise her role as Dr. Elizabeth Shaw, but there's no announcement made about the issue as of this writing.
"The Predator" movie, on the other hand, already released its first teaser art. The promotional image got its title inscribed in the snap with a written phrase, "You'll never see him coming."
"The Predator" script was written by Fred Dekker and Shane Black, who is also going to direct the film. However, there is no official synopsis for "The Predator" has been revealed yet, but it has been said that it will be the sequel to the original movie, "Predator."
Hence, the previous films, the "Predator 2," "Alien vs. Predator" and "Predators" will not be taken into account. Meanwhile, the back-to-back return of the two giant franchises is quite different as they are not going to be in a shared universe.
