iPhone 7 Release Date, News & Update: Latest Flagship Has Thinner Body, to Join Apple's 'Pro' Line [Rumors]

The much-awaited release of iPhone 7 is now being surrounded with rumors. In fact, it has been said that Apple's latest flagship is going to be 1mm thinner compared to iPhone 6s.

The KGI securities analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, suggested that iPhone 7 will look like iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s. They will all have the same body, metal design, height and width.

However, it has been said that it will not be waterproofed like what the rumors have. It has been known that iPhone 6s is about 7.1mm thin making iPhone 7 6.1mm thick like the iPod touch.

Moreover, iPhone 7's camera will be flushed with the unit's casing and will drop the 3.5mm headphone jack to make the device thinner. It, too, will be featured with stereo speakers, which will be the first time for Apple to improve the crown jewel's sound quality.

iPhone 7 may also have a thinner lightning port compared to its predecessors. However, the smartphone doesn't need to have a new set of cable or connector as the "actual cutout" only becomes smaller.

Meanwhile, iPhone 7 also has leaked images attained by NWE, which was reported by Softpedia. The revealed snaps will shut down all the aesthetic rumors about the device showing the chassis of the new phone.

"By the looks of its, iPhone 7 might has 5.2inches screen size. "While a 5.2-inch version might not make sense, at first, it could actually be the next logical steps for the company should it decide to revamp the iPhone lineup and create more consistency into the entire Apple lineup," Softpedia reported.

They also noted that the said dimension might imply that the upcoming iPhone 7 will be added to the line of iPhone Pro following the range of Apple's Pro models, from iPad to MacBook. The iPhone 7 is expected to be released in September.
