'Star Wars Episode 8' Release Date, News & Update: Daisy Ridley Reveal Spoilers

Daisy Ridley gave everyone a little background of what's going on the filming of "Star Wars: Episode VIII" on the red carpet interview at the recent Academy Awards. The 23-year-old star was in high spirits as she shared her story with her co-star Mark Hamill, who played as Luke Skywalker.

"Me and Mark have been rehearsing a lot, and it's really amazing," Daisy Ridley told MTV News on Feb. 28. "When we went back to Skellig to do the opening of [Episode] VIII, it was so crazy doing the same scene with a different crew of people. He's amazing to rehearse with, and I'm very excited to be doing the rest of the stuff."

She also teased the "Star Wars" fans by saying that the next installment has a good story. Also, she added: "Seriously. Luke is so cool in this one. Really."

And by saying cool, Daisy Ridley just implied that Luke Skywalker might already move on from his trauma by Kylo Ren. Also, it might be a hint that he is about to show her the way to the force.

Furthermore, Daisy Ridley divulged that she and Mark Hamill stared at each other for about two hours in the last scene of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." It was seen that her character as Rey found Luke Skywalker in an abandoned island.

She, then, moved closer to him and gave him back his lightsaber. She also described that at the end of the "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" she's not sure if Luke Skywalker was going to accept the sword and the "Star Wars: Episode VII" will start from there.

"When we went back to Skellig [Michael, Ireland] to do the opening of Episode VIII, it was so crazy doing the same scene with a different crew of people," Daisy Ridley described. Hence, she just dropped a major spoiler, which will be the first time for the franchise to follow where it left off.

"Star Wars: Episode VIII" is set to be released on Dec. 15, 2017.
