Adele Makeup Tips & Secrets: How To Copy Singer's Signature Red Lips And Cats-Eye

Apart from getting raves for her music, Adele's makeup style is also drawing a lot of praises from fans. She has relied on makeup artist Michael Ashton to create her striking signature look, and Ashton shares some tips on how it's done.

Below are some tricks to copying Adele's signature red lips and eyes:

Adele Makeup Tip: Lips

Adele looks best in bold red colors because her complexion complements it. One of the lip products the makeup artist heavily relies on is Lip Maestro by Armani, per Daily Mail. Ashton uses a lip brush to evenly apply this and then instructs his clients to rub the lips together. The makeup artist then finishes the application by feathering the edges with his fingertips or a darker shade of lip liner.

Adele Makeup Tip: Eyes

Adele has the perfect set of brows and cats-eye, thanks to Ashton's skillful hands. He does the makeup using black gel liner and waterproof liquid liner. The gel liner is for shaping, while the liquid liner is for refining and intensifying. He does the winged tips last, per OK!

Some of the products the makeup artist relies on are Giorgio Armani Maestro Liquid Eye Liner and Lancome Grandiose Mascara - Noir Mirifique.

Adele Makeup Tip: Cheeks

Ashton contours Adele's cheeks and applies some shade using Giorgio Armani Maestro Blush. "I always start using a cream stick in a deep-brown shade, applying product first to the back of my hand and then buffing it into the skin using a natural hair foundation brush - right underneath the cheekbone toward the center of the face, through the temples and around the hairline, then lightly down each side of the nose," he told New York Magazine.

Ashton and Adele have been working together since 2007, when she needed a makeup artist for her album cover. It was the singer who wanted to play around with the eyeliner, so Ashton did the cats-eye. That has been one of her signature looks since.
