Doctor Peter Capaldi and the rest of the crew of "Doctor Who" are about to reform and set their stage for a new showrunner for the upcoming Season 10. And as part of the reorder, a new star will be added - the English actress Rakhee Thakrar to play the character of Clara Oswald.
It has been known that Steven Moffat said goodbye to the show and gave his crown to Chris Chibnall. Also, people behind "Doctor Who" have to fill the empty role Jenna Coleman left in the final episode of Season 9.
Moreover, there are surfacing news that 32-year-old Rakhee Thakrar is already under negotiation with BBC to be the companion of Peter Capaldi for the upcoming Season 10. For those who didn't know the star, she played as Shabnam Masood in a popular British drama in the U.K., "EastEnders."
However, as of this writing, BBC hasn't confirmed yet if the rumors are true, but Radio Times already claimed that Rakhee Thakrar is one of the stars who are set to meet the show's producers. If the hearsays are true, she "could be the front-runner for Season 10's companion."
Hence, the addition of Rakhee Thakrar on "Doctor Who" emerged when she left his role on "EastEnders." Meanwhile, Ingrid Oliver's Osgood, too, left the Team TARDIS as Steven Moffat told Digital Spy that she's indeed a great character and they loved her, but he doesn't think that "you really get a re-launch out of bringing someone on board the TARDIS who's already been there."
Maisie Williams is not going to play back her role, either. "I'm not going to be working on 'Doctor Who' again," the "Game of Thrones" star said to Vulture.
"Everyone's hyping about it, which is very exciting, but I guess that's more of a publicity thing. But no, I'm not going to return, I have a lot of other really exciting projects lined up instead," she added. However, Peter Capaldi himself only has one request and that is,
"With the best will in the world, I don't want a bloke."
