'The Other Side of the Door' News and Updates: Check Out The Trailer Here!

"The Other Side of the Door" is a horror story about a mother grieving for her dead son. As she seeks reconciliation with her dead child, she unknowingly opened the portals to the underworld, bringing terror to her family and her daughter.

The "Other Side of the Door" follows an American family living a privileged life in India, narrates Film Journal. However, in a tragic road accident, Maria (Sarah Wayne Callies) was only able to save her daughter, Lucy (Sofia Rosinsky), as the SUV plunges to the river, drowning her beloved son, Oliver (Logan Creran). Filled with guilt, Maria seeks forgiveness from Oliver, following their housekeeper's (Suchitra Pillai) mystical methods to communicate with the dead.

So, Maria goes to an abandoned temple in the south of India and tried to talk to her dead son for the last time. Ancient tradition says to stay inside the temple while waiting for a response from the dead loved ones. She did as she was instructed to do and by night time, she got a response from Oliver on the other side of the building's front door. As she asked Oliver for forgiveness, she was so overwhelmed that she did not follow the strict orders of their housekeeper not to open the doors of the temple no matter what. This is where the horror starts.

"The Other Side of the Door" is directed by Johannes Roberts. Roberts also directed thriller film in 2012 titled as "Storage 24". He has also been known to direct low-budget horror films which include "Forest of the Damned" and "Hellbreeder". Although, Film Journal notes that "The Other Side of the Door" seemed to be an upgrade both concept and budget wise. The film also stars Jeremy Sisto who portrays the husband of Maria.

Movie News Guide reports that Callies described the movie as interesting. She also added that the film can be considered as a "cautionary tale" against cultural and spiritual customs that most aren't familiar with. "The Other Side of the Door" will premiere in theaters on Friday, March 4. Check out the full trailer below:
