The "Pokemon GO" event that will be led by Niantic CEO John Hanke at the Game Developers Conference this year was cancelled. The said conference was supposed to be held on March 14, but it will be moved on a later date that has not yet been announced.
Unfortunately, people behind the Game Developers Conference didn't divulge any reason behind the cancellation. However, the announcement can be seen on GDC 2016 website, which simply stated: "CANCELLED: Catch 'Em All: 'Pokemon GO' and Real World Gaming."
Moreover, gamers were quite upset when they learned that news as they were expecting that they were up for a treat as declared on the site. "Attendees will get a first-hand, in-depth look at how players are interacting and exploring the world with one another through Pokemon GO, the collaborative approach to design and development for the game and the next evolution of augmented reality and real-world mobile gameplay experiences," it read.
Hence, fans are now waiting for Niantic updates and further details if the postponed "Pokemon GO" session's next schedule. Moreover, the supposed-to-be talk of "Pokemon GO" with Real World Gaming, which will be led by the serial entrepreneur Hanke, was going to tackle how Niantic "developed a unique vision for delivering a mobile Pokemon experience that gets would-be trainers into the outdoors."
"Pokemon GO" promises its players to catch, train and fight monsters in the real world; however, Niantic didn't give any further details how it was going to work. They, too, can play the game with an additional optional device, the "Pokemon GO Plus."
It is like a smartwatch that can be worn on the wrist and used in an execute in-game actions, like catching a Pokemon. The new gadget will be powered by smartphones with the use of Bluetooth and will warn its wearers of a nearby Pokemon when its LED light flashes.
"Pokemon GO" will be available this year on App Store and Google Play for free. Also, it will be offered via in-app purchases.
