Apple iPhone 6c News & Updates: New iPhone to Feature Design with Curved Edges

Apple will launch its new four-inch iPhone 6c on March 21 at a press event, according to multiple sources. The new iPhone will showcase curved edges similar to the iPhone 5s.

Since the iPhone 5s launched back in 2013, this is expected to be Apple's first four-inch iPhone. Back in the year 2015, it was rumored that after the success of the 4.7-inch iPhone 6s, Apple decided to stop making four-inch iPhones and ditched the "C" range from its line-up. But now, it's been rumored that a smaller iPhone 6c (or iPhone SE) might launch in 2016.

There were many rumors about the upcoming iPhone 6c, but it seems that we are finally close to seeing the finished product. A previous report on 9to5Mac said that Apple will be showcasing the iPhone 6c alongside the iPad Air 3 at an event on March 15. The report also suggested that Apple has dropped the iPhone 6c branding and the new four-inch iPhone will launch as the iPhone 5SE, which stands for "Special Edition."

Meanwhile, a new report from Macworld claims that the iPhone 6c (or iPhone 5SE) will be unveiled at a press event on March 21. The news outlet based its report from multiple sources.

Apple Insider also claims that in 2017, Apple plans to incorporate OLED display technology in its iPhone lineup. However, due to initial supply constraints, the new screen technology will be limited to certain high-end models.

Insider sources claim that in December, Apple reached out to South Korean display suppliers LG and Samsung to discuss ramping up OLED production for next year's iPhone launch. Apple is reportedly aiming to take advantage of OLED's ability to conform with curved handset designs and other unique features.

More updates on the iPhone 6C (or iPhone 5SE) are expected soon.
